Last week Los Angeles wrapped up the 2014 Spring fashion weeks across the globe. The shows this year were held at LA Live’s event deck downtown by the Staples Center. I was extremely impressed by the venue and effort to coordinate a “legit” fashion week for Los Angeles designers to showcase. In the past, I’ve been somewhat disappointed, but this year was a turning point. LA is on the map again and I have a feeling next year will be even better!
The eclectic spirit of LA was evident on the runway and in the crowd. There was a mix of mens and womens fashion, some was couture or avant garde, while other shows had clothes that were wearable on a daily basis. My favorite shows were XCVI, Silvia Bours and Furne One because of the designer’s clear vision, solid story and cohesive collections.
I went behind the scenes backstage to check out the chaos of getting the models makeup, hair and looks put together before the runway show. View my images of Style Fashion Week below.
