Style Tip: Spring Closet Cleaning

It’s that time of year when we can’t wait to put our big chunky sweaters and long coats back into storage. We are dying to add color and lighter layers into our wardrobe. Do you find yourself storing Fall and Winter items year after year, but you haven’t worn them in over five years? It’s time to get rid of those things and make some extra room and cash (explained at the end of the post). Also, I’ll give you some tips to organizing your closet so that when you’re getting dressed in the morning it’s easy. If you can’t image the thought of organizing your closet, I’m happy to help. Organize starting with categories. In this order place your tanks, tops, sweaters, jackets, dresses and pants.
Color coordinate each area of your closet by tops, jackets, sweaters, pants, dresses, etc. This will make it easy when you’re coordinating your outfit or when you’re trying to find a certain color to pair with something.
Put away seasonal items to make space.
Organize shoes neatly.
Have all your hangers be the same type or color.

Event: Renegade Women’s Conference 2013

Last week I was a vendor at the Renegade Women’s Conference put on by Donna and Nailah, which was an interactive entrepreneurial event for women in all levels of business. There were keynote speakers and panels of women that shared their first hand experiences with starting their businesses or breaking away from the corporate world and taking the step to following their passions. It was an absolutely inspiring and empowering all-day event where I met and learned from powerful business women.

Fashionable Inspirations had a table where people could take a “mini” style quiz to learn more about their style personalities and if the way they are dressing portrays who they really are on the inside. It was so great to talk to women about their styling needs and concerns. I just wanted to share a few pictures from the event and for those of you who were there, thanks for stopping by!

Although it is OFFICIALLY Spring it doesn’t quite feel like it yet. We are transitioning our wardrobes from cold-icy, large, muted colored, winter clothes to warm, exciting, colorful clothes that are (in my opinion) a lot more exciting than fall and winter clothing. While in this transition, you are tempted to put on that colorful, bright new blouse from TopShop, but you’ll freeze. SOLUTION: start adding POPS of color with your accessories. This will cheer you up! When warm weather is here to stay you’ll be prepared.
